Medicaid Divorce: For Better For Worse But Not For The Nursing Home
Find out more about how the use of divorce can be used to preserve assets for the well spouse. In certain situations, Medicaid laws do not protect the well spouse, especially if the spouses are young, raising children, or have other issues. In this session, review the dissolution of marriage statutes in most states which provide for an equitable division of marital assets if certain statutory requirements are met. A template that has been used successfully to protect the well spouse from dissipating the marital estate in certain circumstances also will be provided.
