Membership Terms
NAELA membership is a calendar year.

About NAELA Membership Payments
• All dues are non refundable and membership is not transferable
• Because most NAELA members are not part of large firms, NAELA membership is based on individual enrollment and does not offer a group enrollment discount
• Contributions or gifts to NAELA (except the NAELA Foundation) are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for income tax purposes. However, they may be tax deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses subject to restrictions imposed as a result of lobbying and political activities. ANELA estimates that the non-deductible portion of your 2025 dues allocable to lobbying and political activities is 12%
• Membership runs from January through December each year
• Members who renewal each year agree to continue and pledge support to the NAELA Aspirational Standards

Renewal
Invoices for membership dues renewal are due 1 January.

Termination
Members must possess a juris doctorate or equivalent degree and be licensed or authorized to practice law under the jurisdiction of any country. NAELA membership automatically terminates if a member is suspended from the practice of law in any state or other jurisdiction.
