About the Practice
Paul Shapiro is a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, and is a shareholder at Carlin & Shapiro, P.A. He specializes in Medicaid (MaineCare), Disability Planning, Guardianships/Conservatorships, and Probate. He focuses most of his work on disability planning techniques, including complex MaineCare eligibility and asset preservation plans. Paul also spearheads the litigation at Carlin & Shapiro, P.A. where he aggressively advocates for our clients in both the Probate Courts, and the MaineCare appeals process. Attorney Shapiro has been invited by different organizations throughout the State to speak on estate planning techniques, and often lectures at continuing legal education programs for attorneys. He has served as chair of the Elder Law Section of the Maine State Bar Association and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Paul is a graduate of Wheaton College (MA), and Boston University School of Law.
